WEEE Waste Disposal for Businesses
Redeploy collects and disposes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for businesses in London and Bournemouth & Poole. We deal with any data first, reuse or resell what we can, and recycle the rest. Every collection comes with a waste transfer note.
Unless it's very old, business equipment often still has value and we'll often pay for it. That can bring the cost down, or cover it completely.

What counts as WEEE?
WEEE is any electrical or electronic equipment you're getting rid of, including its parts. As a rule of thumb, if it has a plug, a battery or a cable and you no longer want it, it's WEEE.
For most businesses that means:
- laptops, desktops, monitors and docking stations
- servers, storage, switches, routers and UPS units
- printers, copiers and scanners
- screens, projectors, video conferencing and audio equipment
- cables, chargers, keyboards, mice and other peripherals
If you're not sure about something, ask.
Hazardous WEEE
Some WEEE is classed as hazardous, for example CRT monitors, some flat screens, fluorescent tubes and certain batteries. We take these too. Hazardous waste needs a consignment note rather than a waste transfer note, and we provide one where it's required.
Your responsibilities, in brief
Under the WEEE Regulations 2013 and the waste duty of care, a business getting rid of electrical equipment should:
- keep it out of general waste and store it safely until it's collected
- use a registered waste carrier
- describe the waste accurately and complete a waste transfer note for each collection (or a consignment note for hazardous waste)
- keep that paperwork: two years for waste transfer notes, three years for consignment notes
This is a short summary, not legal advice. The full guidance is on GOV.UK.
Redeploy is a registered waste carrier, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and insured.
How it works
- 1
Tell us what you have. A rough list, a few photos or a quick call is enough.
- 2
We give you a free quote. There's no obligation. We'll tell you what we think has resale value and whether we can pay for any of it.
- 3
Pick a time. We can mobilise quickly, and work evenings and weekends by arrangement.
- 4
We collect. Our team removes everything agreed. If data needs destroying before anything leaves the building, we do that on site.
- 5
Reuse first, then recycling. Working equipment is refurbished or resold. What can't be reused is recycled.
- 6
You get the paperwork. A waste transfer note with every collection, consignment notes for hazardous items where required, and a certificate of destruction for data-bearing devices.
Data security
A lot of WEEE holds data: laptops, desktops, servers, storage, and many printers and copiers. A factory reset isn't enough, because the data can often be recovered.
We wipe drives to NIST 800-88 using approved data-erasure software, with a report for every drive. Drives that can't be wiped, or that you'd rather destroy, are shredded. We can do both at your premises, so nothing that holds data leaves your building intact. You always get a certificate of destruction for data-bearing devices. More on our data destruction service.
Reuse first
Recycling should be the last step, not the first. Working equipment is tested, refurbished and resold or redeployed, which is often why we can pay for it. Anything that can't be reused is broken down and recycled. We do everything we can to keep equipment out of landfill.

Areas covered
Most of our work is in London, and we also cover Bournemouth & Poole. We can work in city centres around the UK by arrangement.
Our offices are in Park Royal, London NW10 6EU, and at 27 High Street, Christchurch, BH23 1AW.
WEEE disposal FAQs
Do businesses have to recycle WEEE?
They have to deal with it properly: keep it out of general waste, use a registered waste carrier and keep the paperwork. The law also expects reuse to come before recycling where possible, so working equipment that can be reused is the best outcome.
What paperwork will we get?
Every collection comes with a waste transfer note, which is the document the law requires when waste leaves your premises. Keep it for two years. Hazardous items come with a consignment note where one is required, which you keep for three years. For data-bearing devices you also get a certificate of destruction, plus an erasure report for every wiped drive.
How much does WEEE disposal cost?
There's no fixed price list. It depends on what you have, how much there is and how easy the building is to work in. Unless it's very old, business IT and AV equipment often has resale value and we'll often pay for it, which can reduce the cost or cover it. Quotes are free.
Do you take CRT monitors, batteries and fluorescent tubes?
Yes, including CRT monitors, fluorescent tubes, and UPS, lead-acid and other batteries. We provide consignment notes where they're required, so just mention these items when you ask for a quote.
How quickly can you collect?
We can usually move quickly, which helps with lease ends and office moves. Evenings and weekends are available by arrangement. Tell us your deadline and we'll say whether we can meet it.
