How it works
- 1
Tell us what you have. A rough list, a few photos or a quick call is enough. Let us know the address, roughly how much there is, and when you need it gone.
- 2
We give you a free quote. There's no obligation. We'll tell you what we think has resale value, and if we can pay you for any of it.
- 3
Pick a date. We work to your timescale, including evenings and weekends when pre-booked. For urgent jobs we can often mobilise within 24 to 48 hours.
- 4
We clear the site. Our team removes the equipment and anything else agreed. If you need data destroyed before anything leaves the building, we can wipe devices or shred hard drives on site.
- 5
Reuse first, recycle the rest. Working equipment is refurbished or resold where possible. What can't be reused is recycled through proper WEEE routes, not sent to landfill.
- 6
You get the paperwork. You receive certificates of data destruction for data-bearing devices and waste transfer notes for what we take away.
Costs and value
How much does a clearance cost?
There's no fixed price list, because every job is different. The price depends on how much there is, what it is, and how easy the building is to work in (lifts, parking, loading bays and building rules all make a difference). We quote each job individually, and quotes are free.
Will you pay for my old equipment?
Often, yes. Unless it's very old, business IT and AV equipment usually has some resale value, and we'll often pay for it. That value can bring the cost of a clearance down a lot, and sometimes covers it completely. If your kit is very old or broken, we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
Is there such a thing as a free office clearance?
Sometimes. If the equipment is worth more than the cost of clearing it, the job can cost you nothing. It depends on what's there, so the quickest way to find out is to send us a list or some photos.
Data security
Is wiping or formatting a hard drive enough?
A factory reset or a quick format is not enough. It hides the data but often leaves it recoverable. A proper wipe overwrites the whole drive using software built for the job. The other option is to physically shred the drive so it can't be read at all. We do both.
Can you wipe data or shred hard drives at our premises?
Yes. We can wipe devices on site, and we can shred hard drives on site, so nothing data-bearing leaves your building intact. If you'd rather, we can collect the equipment and deal with it securely at our facility.
Can SSDs be wiped?
Yes, but SSDs need a different method from older spinning hard drives, so it's worth using someone who knows the difference. We wipe them using methods suited to SSDs, or shred them if you prefer.
What is a certificate of data destruction?
It's a record showing which devices were wiped or destroyed, how, and when. It's what you keep on file to show you've met your data protection obligations. You'll receive one for the data-bearing devices we handle.
Are you registered with the ICO?
Yes. Redeploy is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Collections and timings
How quickly can you get to us?
We can usually move quickly. For urgent clearances, such as a lease ending or a business closing, we can often mobilise within 24 to 48 hours. Tell us your deadline and we'll tell you straight away whether we can meet it.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Yes, when it's pre-booked. Lots of our clearances happen out of hours so the office can keep working, or to fit around building management rules.
Which areas do you cover?
Most of our work is in London and city centres around the UK. We also cover Bournemouth and Poole. Our offices are in Park Royal, West London, and in Christchurch, Dorset.
What do you take?
Laptops, desktops, monitors, servers, networking and storage equipment, printers and peripherals, AV equipment such as screens and video conferencing systems, office furniture, and commercial kitchen equipment. If you're not sure about something, ask.
What do we need to do before you arrive?
Not much. Back up anything you want to keep, because once devices are wiped or shredded the data is gone. Let us know about access, parking, lift bookings and any building rules, and tell us about anything that should stay behind.
Paperwork and the environment
Are you a registered waste carrier?
Yes. Redeploy is a registered waste carrier, and you'll receive waste transfer notes for what we take away.
What happens to the equipment you take?
We try to reuse it first. Working equipment is tested, refurbished and resold or redeployed. What can't be reused is broken down and recycled through proper WEEE routes, the rules for disposing of electrical and electronic equipment.
