Secure, documented IT disposal
Old IT equipment is a data liability until it's properly sanitised, and an environmental one until it's disposed of through authorised routes. A factory reset isn't enough, and neither is a general waste skip. Our IT disposal service covers both risks:
- Data security: every data-bearing device is wiped with approved data-erasure software and erasure reports, or its drive is shredded. You receive a serialised certificate of destruction for each device. See Secure Data Destruction.
- Legal disposal: we're a registered waste carrier, and anything that can't be reused goes through WEEE recycling.

How much does IT disposal cost?
Often very little, and sometimes nothing. Unless your equipment is very old, it usually has resale value, and we'll often pay you for it. That value offsets the cost of collection and processing, so many IT clearances cost little or nothing. Very old or broken equipment has less value, and we'll tell you honestly what to expect. Every job is quoted individually, and quotes are free and no-obligation.

What is ITAD?
ITAD stands for IT asset disposal (sometimes "IT asset disposition"). It's the secure, documented process of retiring business IT equipment: collecting it, sanitising or destroying the data, then reusing, reselling or recycling the hardware in line with data protection and WEEE rules. How do I dispose of old IT equipment securely in the UK?
Use a registered waste carrier that can show a documented chain of custody. Make sure data is securely wiped with erasure reports, or the drives are shredded, and that you receive certificates of destruction and waste transfer paperwork. Don't rely on a factory reset or put IT equipment in general waste. Electrical equipment being discarded must be handled as WEEE.
